Greetings,
Went to do some time building at my home airport today KHPN. I noticed two warbirds on one of the ramps.
Confederate Air Force DC-3 and a North American T-6. I didn't noticed them on the ramp until I taxied out. I am noty a fan of warbirds or and flying museums but I guess I needed this DC-3 Frame.

I took my camera along this time and shot a few other planes while I was there and took a few shots at KSWF. VERY rare landing on runway 34 at KSWF Shorter of the 2 runways. The first time I have ever seen a plane land on this runway was MINE :) I LOVE flying into Stewart.

Its nice sometimes to get some stuff right in your own back yard once in a while.

Nice shots, but that's not a Confederate AF DC-3 - it's my favorite C-47, based at the American Airpower Museum at FRG. It actually flew over Normandy on D-Day. The T-6 (actually an SNJ) is also one of their aircraft. They are spending the weekend.

John,
Oops I was thinking of the Commemorative Air Force, non "Confederate" DC-3 based out in the Chicago area. It looks almost identical to this one. Sorry about that.

Gordon,
Yes I probably flew over your house school too :)

GothamSpotter,
That is an ex Air France 747-200. I remember the day it arrived. F-GCBA

Senga - Nice shots... what was the other 747 there before? KLM? Broken up now?

Also: what are the two 727s? They seem to be parked in that remote facility where the Airborne DC-9s used to go, yes?

Thanks,
Tom

Short weekend? I came out of my house on a beautiful morning (8:10) for a nice walk and saw the C-47 then the
T-6 coming in from the North inbound to Runway One-Four.

Love this shot. Brings back memories when I used to go there in the 90s with my kids when I spent
weekends at my in-laws house up in western Ct. It was an hour drive but pretty much worth it.

BTW I see some helos parked there on the ramps in front of where the 747 is. One at private facilty
and a few at the Army facilty. Are those UH-72 Lakotas?

Tom,
Yes the other 747 was a KLM one. i remember when that one arrived as well. I don't know if I shot it or not. Yes the KM is long gone. Its too bad they didn't bring and more obscure airlines there instead of something we ALREADY have.

The two 727 you wee i the one shot. Those are fede B722s

Gerard,
Yes the helicopters do look like the UH-72....I need one of those!
