First attempt at backyard spotting

I tried my hand at backyard spotting for the first time. Shot with a 30D and a 300mm f/4 with a 1.4x TC (420mm total)...it's a bit fuzzy probably due to the relatively large crop, and shot in raw at a higher temperature to produce that golden-ish hue. What are your thoughts?
