Military Flyover Today 4/9/10

Notification issued on 4/9/2010 at 9:00 AM. A military aircraft will be flying down the Hudson River landing at LaGuardia Airport in Queens today at approximately 11:15 AM. This is a planned event, you may see this low flying aircraft in the area.

I saw a MH-53 Sea Dragon today at Downtown around 3:30pm, I don't know if this is related to this event but boy that helo was HUGE and loud. It got the attention for most pedestrians.

Oh yeah those babys are BIG AND LOUD!!! :D
One time I watched Marine 1 land at Downtown and they were using the Stallions as support ships instead of the Sea
Knights. Four of them came in one at a time then left. THAT was sweet!! :)

She was in the area yesterday (Friday) too. I saw here from Ceasars Bay flying up the river & over the Verrazano. I could feel the rotors from Best Buy parking lot!

Does anyone know why they are in town?

Oh yeah JRB traffic can be interesting, last time I passed by I saw a USCG Dolphin helo and a unmarked CBP helo side by side. The flight crew looked like they were just in the area for lunch. :mrgreen:
