Well I can tell you there arent many left in NWA colors. As far as a number goes I dont know an exact number but from through recent photo's put up here in the forum i'd say between 3 and 5 though that number might be more. You will not see any DC-9-50 in NWA colors. You will find a few -40's in NWA colors and whatever is still flying of the -30's are in NWA colors. The only thing I can say as advice is watch the flights that come in and try to see the different a/c numbers on them. Though time consuming their isnt any other way I see.

Though currently not working (they crash a lot), airfleets.net should be able to shed some light on it.

Maybe a Northwest/Delta employee can help us out. Anyone?

There are 17 NWA DC-9-30's and 7 DC-9-40's that will stay in the NWA scheme until their planned retirements this summer. All 34 DC-9-50's are already in the new Delta scheme.

I'm about to book a RT BDL-DTW flight just to get a last chance aboard the DC9-30.

Do it. I flew through DTW when heading back to NYC from ROC twice just to get DC-9s. So far I got a -50, and the oldest flying -40 in the USA.

(btw, my first post! :borat: )
