Surprised nobody posted this yet.

Even more surprised to see that it was bad weather in Montauk yesterday. Not only low visibility, but SNOW! It was sunny & warm all day in Miller Place.

A single-engine Cessna landing at Montauk Airport overshot a runway, crashed through a fence and ended up on the street, the Federal Aviation Administration said Saturday.

Only the pilot was aboard. No one was hurt in the 5:52 p.m. incident, agency spokeswoman Holly Baker said last night.

"No injuries, no fatalities," she said.

The plane came to a stop on East Lake Drive.

Baker said she didn't know whether the plane was damaged.

Bad weather was apparently the cause, but Baker didn't have specifics.

The agency will investigate the crash.

The pilot overshot Runway No. 24, she said.

The owner of the six-seat plane, identified in records as Scott Somerville of Montauk, could not be immediately reached for comment.

Very intresting. Must have floated it a bit. Intresting note.... With prior approval certain jets are allwed into there. I've seen a Lear 31 parked on the ramp. I have heard someone brings a CJ2 in there as well. Snow.... Very intresting

Pretty sure that's foam from a fire truck, not snow. :)
