A friend asked me to help them photograph their last game; I've never done ice hockey before, so I decided to give it a shot.

All were taken without flash, with an EF 70-200L IS USM.

Hockey is tough. Fast motion without a lot of light. Nice work!

I recognize the rink. I attended RPI and played intramurals in that very rink :D

Thanks; I was shooting as wide as my lens would go at 1600.

Wow, really? That makes you the fourth NYCA member that is attending/has attended RPI as far as I'm aware.

Pretty good set, especially considering the lighting has all but gone to hell in that building. Every light bulb is a different color, but hopefully all will be replaced over the summer. I usually direct the broadcast of the Men's games with RPI TV, and achieving a decent white balance is pretty much impossible.
