I stumbled upon an Album on Flickr that is truely astonishing to me. Alot of the work is from the mid 50 to early 60's and it is all in color and truely teriffic. There is quite a bit of aviation mixed into the shots as well as just a real nearly living version of the era for those of us who were not around in that time period. When most of these pictures were taken not even my father was alive. (he was born in 1963). I encourgae everyone to have a look.

wow dude that's insane....you actually get a feel for what it was like mid-century rather than looking at failed attempts to reach a distinguishable photo by so many others...

These remind me of the color quality you'd see in a lot of the National Geographics from the 50's and 60's...

I sifted through the album and there were a few modern pics in there. Two of them happened to be of the high school from which I graduated being demolished recently. Riverview High School.

That was really cool ! Although many where taken before even my time since many where taken in Central Florida where I grew up so many looked familiar. Six Gun territory was a decades since defunct small old west themed amusement park just East of Ocala, Fla near Silver Springs which still exists. I visited their numerous times in the mid and late 1960's. Since it seemed this person did a ton of travelling it is a pity he did take more shots of what he flew on, though many trips that most would not drive today due to distance where actually driven by many back then. Several childhood friends had to endure summer trips from Florida to California and or out West and back by car in the 60's and 70's.

Cheers
