Jes the weather is bad and all the specials show up. Noteable misses: Cathay One World, BA One World, BA 772 Face To Face and Asia's World City.
After the storm cleared (later then supposed to) I attempted some night shots and for once I actually got shots that werent blurry. Woot :borat:

seems like that Qantas Soccer scheme has been showing to JFK pretty often... great catch Nick

Excellent catch. If you were shooting with a DSLR that would have been OUTSTANDING

Only the 2nd time it has shown up. And how the recent A/C rotation into JFK has been this was a Wunala day. I think they subbed Socceroo for Wunala cause of the weather. If I owned that camera it would be nice.

No, it was not a sub, it was scheduled all the way from sydney.

What I meant was Wunala was probably the bird to fly down here but they changed to Socceroo after hearing about the weather. Its a long flight so they probably changed some time yesterday.

Airlines don't sub aircraft based on special schemes (unless there was some PR event I am not aware of). Maintenance or operational reasons maybe, but something tells me there was no sub here if it operated QAF107 all the way from Sydney. Long haul ship rotations are a bit harder to track due to their extended "rests" at their maintenance bases.
