So the Honda Pilot is a welcome addition to our family. After an exhaustive vetting process, we settled on a vehicle that fit our needs.

While we have no problems entering the car, our son wanted to get in "All by myself" so I got and installed some running boards.

While I was under the car, I took note of how clean and new the car was, even after the first 500 miles driven. So I took some photos of the chassis, for the auto enthusiasts here to enjoy!

CLEAN!!

Hows the 4WD system? Did you have to engage the VTM-4?

I can guarantee the underside is not that clean any more!!

Dear haters,

bugger off. If I wanted that 06-08, I'd have bought it. But those are smaller and IMHO uglier.
We love our distinct looking car, not that we asked for your validation.

Just remember, its a right to free speech, not an obligation. 8)

Now, back to our program....

Car does well. Took it into an empty lot and tried doing donuts with the VSA turned on. Great system, really would not allow for said donut making. Huge difference when it was turned off., total skidding and loss of control into calculated donut spins.

Does well in 2 and 1st gear in the 2.5 foot snow. Using the VTM4 only helped but I didnt need it climbing out of the incline driveway.

You know, I may head to your house, Art, just to tackle Art@ISP Hill! ;)

See I was going to agree with you until you said it was uglier. :)
I have an 08 and love it. Where is the extra room? More leg room in the 3rd row or the trunk area?

Sorry about that Gerard. In actuality, the 2005 and the predecessor Passports are the styling I didnt care for.

The 06-08s are actually nicer than the '05 and earlier. Seems that his model has evolved, from the Passport, to be roomier and more boxy over time. And the grill gets better with each generation.

BuT lots of 06-08 lovers are have the option to get a grill that is comparable to the older style. I like the retro styling on the 09+. If room weren't an option, I would have jumped at the Toyota FJ Cruiser.

To answer your question, the 09+ is a hair larger and roomier but what allows for that is the wider wheelbase.

Hey, did you know there is a Piloteers.org site?

talk about a car that fell from the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down... an original FJ40 i can understand, not the new piece of garbage...

The statement that defies all logic.
The FJ Cruiser is based on the very looks of the FJ40, hence its retro style. Which also is similar to the 2010 Pilot.

The new piece of garbage got great writeups for its off road capabilities so I don't know how its a piece of garbage....

Hmmm....to me it looks like a slightly smaller version of the Nissan Pathfinder....

it's styled after the original, but it's nowhere near s good looking. you know that i'm a ver nostalgic person, and when it comes to cars and trucks i like mine old. i have a deep-seeded dislike for new cars.
