You really see the difference in the shape of the nose on this shot:

Wow that wing connection looks weird on the top...is this what they needed to keep the wing together or was the upper connection of the wing originally like this?

I touched that plane!
You can still see his greasy fingerprints under the Boeing logo near the L1 door! :D

Wrong side Moose ;) These shots bring back great memories of that weekend with Mario and Mike. Such a wonderful event, who knew it would be two years before she took to the air. I wish I didn't have to travel this week....I would have used some miles and go out. Oh well...I'll be there for her first arrival at JFK.

if you want to feel what its like, find any carbon fiber boat or canoe and hit it, knock on it a few times.

Feels like our old racing shells from St Anthonys and Stony Brook.

Good times~!

Apparently they did some rotations during today's taxi tests...here are some nice vids by Liz Matzelle (http://vimeo.com/icehawkphoto).

wow, I love how the A 380 and 787 wings have such stark differences.

The A 380 wing wants to sag whereas the 787 wants to flex up and fly.

Very cool differences INHO

matt, those videos are awesome! i love everything about the airplane: the design of the wing and the nose and especially the howl of the engines. i can't wait to see it in LOT colors!

that vid was also the first time i've seen an airplane rotate with the spoilers up, guess they really wanted to keep it on the ground.

and jeremy, those shots are amazing! my fav is the third you posted, with reversers open rolling down the runway....

Those video's are great indeed. I don't know if you could see it in the vids but there was a small amount of smoke or steam or something coming out of the bottom of the engines...I'm gonna try to find a shot of it and point it out.

Weather forecast continues to get more dismal for Tuesday, dampening my hope of being able to shoot it if it scrubs Tuesday's flight. I wish weather.com posted the anticipated ceiling...

http://www.usairnet.com has pretty good forecasting I have found. Here is the look at the forecast for Paine Field.

If they are right, it's a definitive no go. Ceiling under 5000 all day, and visibility under 7 miles.

According to FlightBlogger, mins are 1500ft ceiling and 5SM visibility, along with no standing water on the runway.

Unless flightblogger has heard something new, I have an awfully reliable source that says otherwise. Frankly I welcome flightbloggers and seriously hope he's right - because then we're a go.
