I stopped by BLM today to shoot a G4 that was departing and while waiting had this nice little suprise stop in. The only 2 I know of in the area are based at West Point so thats where its from I imagine. The rest are in San Juan and down south I believe.

I missed the G4 depart for this but I think it was a much better catch

nice! i'm not much of a eurocopter fan but if it's good enough for the army then it's good enough for me.

Nice shot. I read they use the ships for VIP flights and cadet training.
Eventually about 345 of these copters will be deployed with Army and Army Guard units replacing OH-58s and UH-1s.
Always liked the BK117/EC-145 look.

Gerard, I agree. Really sorry to the Bells go, but at least the BK117/EC-145 frame is something decent to see....

72007 was seen a bunch in and around Washington calling FREEDOM 7 and basing out of Fort Eustis. There are some at Eustis and there are now some operating with the DC ArNG at Andrews.

Roomy inside?
i think it's way smaller than a 'hawk, but still pretty comfortable.
We used to have those type of hoists, would be stowed in the cabin when not in use.

He have a bunch of those in and out during the week up at Orange County KMGJ because Taylor Aviation maintains the USMA's fleet of C182's (Just installed a full Aspen Avionics set up with JPI engine monitoring in those... pretty nice setup)
