Wow, I'm ready to go. How close to the airport is it ?

I've been to the NEAM and they have a great collection.
The Airborne Caravelle looks like the one I used to see at JFK in the early 80's. I only saw it parked, but would give anything to see (and hear) it takeoff.

Another Museum I would highly recommend is the US Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio.
I stopped there last week when I dropped my son off at school. The seperate museum annex with the Presidential aircraft is worth the trip alone.

Sorry, no pix as I did not have a camera, but you can check out the website at: http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil. Even if I had a camera, the quality of my shots does not belong here amongst your "GEMS".

Nice shots, Sergio.

Here is the Caravelle at CMH before being repainted to Airborne colors:

Nice shots, Sergio! I haven't been to NEAM in a hundred years, and have been thinking about taking a run up there soon.

That place is spectacular! I was there two years ago, for the first time in 20 years, and was amazed at how it's grown. Definitely a "must see" for aviation fans, and one of the most "photographer friendly" museums I've encountered, actually encouraging the use of tripods! I spent 3 1/2 days going through it.

After a little searching actually found some video of one of the last active Caravelles shot in 2000 down in Columbia. The aircraft sounds to me almost like a 727 prior to hush kitting. Enjoy.

Looks like a pretty scary operation. ALL those big drums being loaded contain gasoline and the few passengers just sit on the floor next to them. "I don't think so"
