Tower Frquency change at LGA?

I was listening to my scanner a few days ago and noticed that from listening to the approaches, The NYA told to contact tower on 119.95 instead of 118.7 Is this an official change?

No...

LGA has been having interference as of recent on the normal tower frequency, so another frequency is in use...

I noticed the departure frequency was changed this morning also (can't remember from the top of my head but it's not 120.4). They were assigned by clearance delivery and was not on ATIS.

Besides interference, can this be a sign of change since the new tower is coming along pretty soon?

Theres been intereference on alot of frequencies lately, some sort of music stations. EWR, JFK, and LGA.

Every airport has additional frequencies that can be used...

New Tower is set to be commissioned next year I believe...
