OpenSkies has announced they will be suspending the route AMS-JFK,effective August 16.
Here is the article to read about it, but its in Dutch:

Due to the Economic climate, the demand for business class flights has gone down, and this route has not been profitable. Refunds are given via London through BA Mainline.

Here's an article in English... http://www.latimes.com/business/nationw ... 4965.story (http://www.latimes.com/business/nationworld/wire/sns-ap-eu-britain-british-airways-openskies,0,6454965.story)
Not so sure about the "temporary" part. I think BA will either sell or dissolve OpenSkies pretty soon.

If BA has any sense, they'll axe the planned A318 trans-Atlantic Concorde "wannabe" service as well.

It's typical BA. They get rid of a competitor by buying it and then close it down.
History shows
Brymon, Manx, Dan Air, B-Cal and many more that I can't think of right now.
They're not known as London Airways by UK spotters for nothing

Not sure if that was their plan in this case...L'Avion probably would have failed long ago had BA not bought them.
