With Phil's kind permission, I would like to let you all know about my Lions Club's upcoming charity event:

The Melville Lions Club (of which I will become president next week) is holding our annual wine and food tasting at the Harbor Club in Huntington on July 23, 2009. Proceeds all go to charity, with one of the primary beneficiaries this year being Canine Companions for Independence.

You can read about the event here: http://www.melvillelions.org/Wine%20info.htm

There will be excellent raffles and prizes as well...tickets are $50 in advance or $65 at the door--if anyone is interested in supporting local charity and having a fun night out please contact me directly.

Thanks all!!

OK, an update--for anyone interested.

We will waive the price change on the 15th, but I will make it interesting--the first two members who are interested in going and contact me within 24 hours will each get two tickets at no charge--my treat...

This is a fun night, and all proceeds go to VERY worthy causes.

Thank you.

Mario,

We do almost everything on a Thursday night...our meetings etc.

My installation as President is this Wednesday at Martoni's in Huntington.

Hope to have you as a member this year!

Best,
Art

And we have our two winners--two free tickets each.

We'd still like to have you join us--please pass the word around--this is a VERY nice event, and benefits a lot of good causes.

Thanks to those who responded.

Congrats again. And I hope to see some photos.

The Lions signage is set up right near our house, I see it every morning but we HAVE to attend next year!

We have 17 restaurants and 6 wineries, plus raffles and auction items. Ticket price will remain at $50 throughout--we are not raising it at the door.

I hope some of you can come out to support a worthy cause.

Thanks.

Also it's rain or shine, so PLEASE come out and help your local charities.
