This is somewhat related to the Wingbox findings but it appears that Boeing has now discovered other areas of weakness that are going to require metal fastners. I don't think I'd want to be the manage of the 787 project these days.

I don't think this is a new finding, they're talking about the delay from last year, and then last week's news.

Either way, this project is a mess.

it is, but look at what is at stake. boeing is building the first ever commercial airliner out of composites. there are bound to be delays as this technology hasn't been implemented this way, and on this scale, ever before. i for one think the original schedule was wayyy too ambitious from the very beginning.
