HOLY FRIJOLES!

Seriously though, the guy is already getting attacked that it's photoshopped. Check the comments.

From the comments:

I have a pilot friend who's looked at this and think it's photoshopped. He wonders about how the line of the fuselage is sharp except the area around the bird. One thing I wonder about is the lack of blood. Wouldn't you think there would be some on that very white fuselage? I don't want to undermine what may a spectacular photo. I would like to see other opinions.

I disagree with that. The photo shows some heat haze, and the impact of the bird in that area can affect the haze on that visible edge.

Can anyone from Delta confirm the bird strike?

Can anyone from Delta confirm the bird strike?

I have asked a couple people I still know with Delta and they have not heard/seen anything about this. Since this is still a NW plane, though in DL colors, this may not be in the Delta system and instead in the NW system.

I think it's legit. The fuzzyness is probably a combination of the haze, water/blood spray created by the impact, vaporized paint chips, feathers, etc.
