I shot this horror at SWF this morning. It arrived at 4:30am and departed for SJC at 8:15am. There was lots of rain and Mist in the area. I WAS hoping for the normal colors of Ryan International but this brought in this ex XL 767 instead. It is registered as N763BK.
It was hardly worth the trip.

LOL... file this one alongside SilverJet. If it weren't for the stairs / truck and rain to actually help this pitiful subject, it might've broken your camera. :D
Can't fault you for trying though.... :borat:

I feel guilty for admitting it, but yes, it is a very ugly plane. I understand Ryan has still not yet achieved ETOPS status for their two 767s.

As ugly as that bird looks in it's current "scheme" if you could call it that there is something a little unique about this 76. It is in the by far least common of the three 767-300 door arangements.
The most common is the dual exit windows over each wing with doors only at the front and back, used by AA, UA, and most of DL's for example.
Then you have doors front and aft, and the extra set of doors just forward of the wing with smaller emergency exit doors just behind the wings, like our local carrier North American has.
But as you can see by Senga's photo, this has 3 sets of doors, no emergency exit doors aft of the wing and one pair of window overwing exits, fairly rare actually.
Off the top of my head I can only think of the small subfleet of ex Gulf Air birds that DL has that have this config.
Nice effort Senga.

Tom,
That was the first time I had a laugh all day. You know the shear whitness of this aircraft probably gave me a few extra m/s of shutter speed. Thats probably the only redeeming quality of this plane.
Phil,
To make it worse it is half XL and half Ryan and looks so mismatched. I am glad I noticed the Ryan logo that is still on the plane. If I didn't see it I probably would not have even bothered to get out fo the car to shoot it.
Ron, I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. That is a unique feature. I feel a little better now that I went out now.

Looks like this plane took a turn for the ugly since I saw it in Toronto a few months ago.

The door configuration is rather rare, but not impossible to catch. LOT's SP-LPE has this configuration and it visits JFK regularly. Also the Mexicana (ex Gulf-Air) we flew on had it.
