An F-22 Raptor crashed approximately 35 miles northeast of Edwards Air Force Base, California The F-22 was assigned to Edwards' 412th Test Wing, and was on a test flight at the time of the crash. There have been no official reports on the fate of the pilot, however another forum I frequent said unofficial word is that he did not eject from the aircraft.

Just saw an update on this - the pilot, a contractor working for Lockheed Martin, was killed in the crash.

RIP to the pilot.
I remember seeing footage of a couple F-22/YF-22A crashes while it was still in the testing and developmental stages. But I guess is this the first downed F-22 'in service'?

I believe an F-22 crashed during testing, and then another F-22 crashed a few years ago, which would make this the 2nd "in service" F-22 crash...

I believe the pilot was a contractor for Lockheed Martin and an AF veteran.
