Anyone ever notice that flights numbered with 191 are not very lucky?

American 191, Delta 191, Comair 191 (aka Delta 5191), all high-fatality accidents.

Then we had the worst day in aviation in the US on 9/11...the numbers just jumbled up.

I'm not superstitious, but all that's just a bit strange to me.

Yep, lots of 9's and 1's there are lots of people that talk about this. Here is the crash that puts the goosebumps on my arms!

If you want to talk about strange!

In the cockpit the pilot tells the FA to leave some juicy comments
for the cocpit voice recorder...then crashes on takeoff...

I read that page, and I still don't buy it. I know, he "explains" why there's some deeper meaning than just noticing number patterns more often if you are looking for them, but I'm a Mopar guy, so when I see the clock showing "4:26" (the old Hemi) it makes more of an impression on me then when it shows something like 2:47. I don't think that means 426 is some special number in my life. That's like all the people who, after 9/11, remarked that it seemed like every time they looked at a clock it showed 9:11. That's because those numbers were on your mind - if you looked at the clock and it showed 9:08, that's a meaningless number, and you wouldn't remember it.

Besides, using his method of adding numbers together to always come up with an 11 is a bit disingenuous. He offers the example of his ZIP code:

For example, my ZIP code is 89138.

8 + 9 + 1 + 3 + 8 = 29, and 2 + 9 = 11.
Using his method, why did he stop at 2+9=11, why doesn't he take it to the logical conclusion and say 1+1=2? I guess that doesn't fit with his "11:11" theory.

I know, I'm spending way too much time thinking about this, but there's no race on this afternoon, and I need some mindless entertainment!

lets see, AA11 , a 767, from BOS crashed into WT1 at 8:46
A 1st letter in the alphabet: 1
AA 11 from BOS: 1+1+1+1+2+15+19=40
into WT1: 40 times 1 = 40
at 8:46: 40 times (8+4+6)=720
a 767: 7+2+0+7+6+7=29
1)2+9=11
2)2 times 9= 18
1+8=9
and we get our numbers 9, and 11
that is the date of the attack. I just did that, right now, proving, that if you have some time on your hands you can come up with random numbers and apply a algorithm that makes sense only to you, and end up with a number that has significance. If you have a number set as your end result, you will try to get it. imo numbers in this weird scary coincidental logic don't really mean anything, they are just numbers.
