Just thought I'd pass on info from the Hampton Roads Air Force Week Director for those interested.

"Please keep your Saturday night open for next UTA, 18 April. It would be great to see a massive VAANG presence at the Hampton Roads AF Week Opening Ceremony that will start at 1830 at Armstrong Field which is the Football Stadium at Hampton University. This will be the AF version of the Olympic Opening Ceremony with Senior Political and AF Leaders kicking off AF Week and celebrating the bonds between the AF, AF Res, ANG, and the local Hampton Roads community, without the long and boring speeches."

"We are planning a very entertaining event with a parachutist, the AF Falcon Bird of Prey team, B-25 Doolittle Raid Fly-Over, 4 Ship-Raptor fly over by VA ANG pilots, heavy aircraft fly-overs, a parade of Airmen, a show by the USAF Honor Guard from DC, and a huge concert by Satellite which is a 10-12 member R & B band with an amazing female vocalist."

"Plan on attending in uniform, any type is fine, just look professional. All the events are free and open to the public, so bring your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and business partners in order to let them experience what you do to help keep our country safe. Parking will be free and Hampton University is only about 3 miles south of Langley, so just jump on I-64 South and exit at Settler's Landing Rd. Go straight through the light and turn left on Emancipation Blvd. The stadium will be on your right about a half mile down."

Yes, my son and I go every year, it is one of the best east coast shows.

Langley is playing host to the very last public demonstration of the F-15 Eagle West Coast Demo Team, so if you want to see an F-15 demo before they disappear, GO.

It's about eight hours from Long Island, driving. I'll try to make it. Langley is one of the nicest bases I've ever seen!!

Seymour Johnson show is the same weekend.

Get a cheap flight to RDU on WN, rent a car drive to GSB then head up to Langley for the Sunday show, then drive back down to RDU for the flight home!

I'll either do that or drive down Friday night to GSB for the Saturday show, then back to Langley for the Sunday show and drive home. If anyone wants to join me for the ride they are more than welcome, but I won't be staying for the displays, unless something good is planned, I'll just be doing the static!
