Can anybody offer me any advice as to which other airfields as well as Tampa International will be worth a visit next weekend for the Superbowl bizjet traffic?

At the two previous Supebowls in Tampa there were over 100 private aircraft parked right at TPA, I would imagine the next two as far as Corporate jet type traffic would be PIE and LAL. Here is info on the two FBO's at TPA.

There are several other general aviaiton airports serving TPA that will see some lighter non biz jet traffic.

If you click on the grey tabs at the top of the below page you can see info about some of these airports.

FYI: Tampa will have a TFR out from game time for about 5 hours. Some bizjets may avoid this airport, as this would mean NO GA departures for at least 2 hours after game time. I'll see if I can find the TFR at work tomorrow.

Already posted on the FAA site:
http://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_9_0355.html

In effect from 4pm to Midnight local time Sunday, surface to FL180, with different restrictions for 10 mile and 30 mile radii from the game site.

I read that TFR and it looks to me that there is an exemption for Airlines/Cargo and Private Charter. Can someone clarify that, as that makes a difference on how long I stay at TPA on Sunday.

I would imagine that some aircraft would go to Zephyrhills (ZPH) which can handle up to CRJ size a/c.

This was e-mailed to me tonight, might be helpful.

To bad we will probably never see something like this is at JFK/LGA/EWR.

While many of us at US are dissapointed we did not do anything for the Super Bowl regarding the Steelers and Cardinals special scheme aircraft someone in aircraft routing did do something kinda of cool.

N733UW the Steelers scheme A-319 was routed to overnight in TPA on Friday,Saturday, and Sunday nights. Like many cariers US's schedule on Saturday afternoon and evenings are very reduced, so 733 arrived back in TPA around 100pm Saturday on her last leg of the day, meaning as all the other full US flights arrive 733 is visible on the ramp, and with all arrivals on 36L those on other airlines with a keen eye probably will notice her also.

N837AW the Cardinals scheme is a West 319 and the only West aircraft serving TPA are from PHX and LAS and even without the Super Bowl demand is just to strong to run a 319 on these routes. Just the same it would have been really nice to see these two parked together on the Ramp in TPA.

Not a big suprise but LGA's resident 727 VP-BDJ arrived in TPA Sunday afternoon taking the long way from PBI, via IAD and ACY. Based on the last few years she probably has 3 or 4 more legs ahead of her tonight.

If US was smart, they would have parked 837 and 733 next to each other all day yesterday and today at TPA, and had a media event to make sure B-roll made it on every sports-related program. Instead, 733UW shows up at DCA a couple of hours before kickoff. Very effective marketing...
