Shame on me for forgetting that yesterday, Dec 21, was the 20th anniversary of the tragic destruction of PanAm 103. Before retiring I was a public school teacher in Brooklyn. One of my students lost his dad in this tragedy in 1988. Many college students from Syracuse returning from London to the JFK also were lost. This also ended the good old days where passengers just walked on a plane and where plane spotters could wander the airports. I also hoped that a memorial would be built at JFK. There is a memorial at Lockerbie, Scotland.
