Remember the ANA Pokemon B744 ?

Do any of you remember seeing the ANA "Pokemon" B744 ? It used to come to JFK in 1999 and 2000. I would get great views when it parked at the Delta Terminal through the large windows. I know it no longer visits JFK as the route is now flown by a B777-300 ER. How could I find-out what happened to this aircraft? Was it re-painted? Its registration was JA8962. I've been trying to purchase a model of the aircraft but it is quite expensive. An ANA employee once told me that due to copyright laws, this model could not be shipped to the US. I wonder if that's true.

As a former ANA employee at LAX, I don't miss that plane at all! I hated working the jumbos over the triples, as we would receive a mix of both types. Now, all our American destinations are served by the beautiful B777-300ERs. To answer your question, you're correct -- this particular aircraft was repainted early 2006.

I remember seeing it at JFK from time to time. It is one of the special colors aircrfat that the NYC airports got.
