Officials say announcement would come after Thanksgiving holiday

The New York Times is reporting that former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has decided to give up her Senate seat and accept the position of secretary of state.

NBC News' Andrea Mitchell confirmed on Thursday night that the New York senator was poised to take the job, saying that Clinton would likely be nominated sometime after Thanksgiving.

The Obama team and the Clintons have worked out potential problems including complex financial disclosure issues for former President Bill Clinton and his international foundation that operates in 27 countries, the officials told NBC News.

I can't believe I'm going to have to see Hillary even MORE than I do now. Ugh. Obama's first crap decision since Nov 4.

Obama is set to name Daschle to a Cabinet level position as well, that will be another bad decision.

And what was Daschle last job, a paid lobbyist....

All of you who cried foul at the possibility of "another four years of Bush" will now get "a third Clinton term."

32 of the 47 transition or staff posts that Mr Obama has filled so far have gone to people from the Clinton administration. Eleven of the 12 members of his Transition Advisory Board are Clinton veterans. And now Obama is considering picking the biggest Clinton insider of them all, Hillary Clinton - as his Secretary of State.

The reason is ...... he doesn't know anyone. He was a community organizer. Who does he know that he can appoint ? Rev "God Damn America" Wright ? Bill Ayers ?? Seriously, he has NO experience and no friends to count on. All he can do is just repeat the Clinton cabinet and rely on the Clintons for help. Sad but true. Do you think that maybe the lifetime experience of so many members of congress will have a field day with this guy as he learns on the job ? The question is who is running the show ? Obama, Biden, or the Clintons....yikes   .

Is this what they meant by change ?

You must be joking !

Kenny the "change" mantra is the oldest trick in the book and Obama used it perfectly to get a lot of people to vote for him. Actually getting elected was the easy part now he has realized he has no idea what he is doing and is trying to surround himself with the best possible cabinet. I actually feel Hillary can do a good job as secretary of state as long as her idiot husband is kept in check. I also feel this deal was made a long time ago but at this point I am more worried about our security, lets face it Obama is going to go back on everything he said in his campaign and cut everyone's taxes including big business to help our economy improve but when it comes to Al Qaida and Iran he is going to be put to the test. He quickly reverted to the Bush policy of "Iran will not be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon" which has angered our enemies something fierce for he gave them the impression he was going to be open for talks during his campaign which he promptly backed off on. If it the lessor of two evils I would rather have Hillary dealing with foreign affairs than in the Senate.

As for the 32 of 47 Clinton admin alum you have to remember that Obama could not govern from his far left past and would move more toward the center. It was a no brainer and this is no surprise. I think what you are going to see is a administration that will be very similiar to what McCain would have been with the exception of things like stem cell research and things like that.

Going further, I feel he may have given Hitlery the nod also to keep her from running against him on the Dem ticket in 2012. Keep your friends close...
