OBama and McCain are to have a meeting on Monday.

Burying the past and a hope toward true bipartisanship?

Thoughts?

I think Obama is just trying to get his Barry Manilow collection back from John.

Obama and McCain to Meet in Chicago Monday
November 14, 2008 9:15 AM

"On Monday, President-elect Barack Obama and Senator John McCain will meet in Chicago at transition headquarters," Obama Transition spox Stephanie Cutter just announced. "It's well known that they share an important belief that Americans want and deserve a more effective and efficient government, and will discuss ways to work together to make that a reality."

McCain ally Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC, and Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., Obama's incoming White House chief of staff, will be there. Graham and Emanuel worked well together on negotiating the presidential debates.

In May, Obama alluded to putting McCain in his Cabinet when discussing how former President Abraham Lincoln put rivals in his Cabinet.

Maybe he will appoint McCain to the new "Secretary of Being Old" position.

I can't believe you listen to Am

I have found myself listening to a lot of AM last few years. I started to get hooked on the drive out to Nevada and love to listen to a lot of talk radio now. Rush and Bill are awesome!

Believe it. Only for news at the top and half of the hour and traffic on the 8's when needed.

Otherwise, while I find talk radio easy to get wrapped up in, I try to stay away from it. There is still some value in talking talking points from the right, the left, and forming your own opinions, as opposed to listening to constant "sided" talk.

I did the reverse commute from Whitestone for some time. At first, it was all talk radio. Then I started with books on tape. Then I started with learning languages on tape.

)Assuming you meant Bill O'Reilly). And you wonder why I think you come off as a radical right winger?

So let me get this straight if you listen or watch Bill O'Reilly or any of the others your a radical? Geez Mario I give you more credit than this. I think you should research what a true radical is. Left or right. I think you will find people like Bill Ayers come to mind. Remember there are people that can support the GOP and not be right wing radicals. I would suggest actually investing some time and listening to Bill you will see he isn't one either.

Nic, whether right or left, you are radical in your stances (regardless the issue, whether political, photographical or otherwise). And thats what I love about you

Regarding O'Reilly, I only started watching him over the last 2 months and though I find him a right winger, I know he's not radical. I do think he's direct and I appreciate that.

Oh I see, though you may be confusing fanatical with radical.

Predating the the whole Rush inspired growth of (right wing) "talk radio", did anyone ever have a chance to listen to Bob Grant locally?

I believe an apt description would probably be "reactionary", and although or despite bringing deserved ill repute upon himself on more than one occasion, he was certainly not always "wrong" in what was a decidedly politically liberal market in NYC for many years....

It would be an exaggeration if I wrote I listened to him seldom, because it was probably less than that even, but l will likely never forget one of his signature lines....
"Its a sick world and getting sicker every day"

Perhaps, though I think that active viewers of FoxNews do trend toward extreme, hence radical right wing thoughts. Sure, the players on that channel seem to play nice, but when you look at a poll taken on any number of their shows, the replies are always >90% in favor of extreme conservative views whereas on the other networks, you always get a more realistic balance.
