July 13-30, 1929 - 420h:21m:30s at St Louis by Dale Jackson and Forrest O'Brine in Curtiss Robin [NR59H]. Distance traveled: about 25,500 miles—more than the circumference of the earth at the equator!

sorry about going nuts with the oversaturation...the owner liked the look ;)

TWO QUESTIONS:

1. When did that arrive at Bayport?!!!!! Is it visiting?

2. How do you get that antique'ey, pastel look to the photo?

hmmm
1. HDR for a low contrast....second picture from the bottom is the same image with just the HDR

Then I did Hue/Sat and selected colorize and made it look the color you see with Hue and the brightness as well.
for the black corners,
made a black layer 50percent opacity and picked the biggest possible feathered eraser and made a big erase in the middle of the image to leave the edges showing a little....A LITTLE.....
Thats it....

I think that is it...but probably played with levels and possible other things.

The original image is there in the color low contrast hdr (2nd image from the bottom). Lets see you Try! ;)

Sorry Pete, The plane is not flying as it is pickeled....It was flying in the 90's and can fly again... The owner is thinking of selling so it probably will not be there for long.

IF YOU GUYS ARE INTERESTED... I can see about setting up a photoshoot of the robin where we can pull it out of the hangar and get some shots... I can also see if some of the other guys would be interested in pulling out their birds for some photos ops. After the winter is better for everyone.... Is this something we are interested in?

You can see some more Bayport photos here
