Great photo moose :)

I know how you took it, you probably have a camera and flash with 2nd curtain sync.

You took the photo with camera to capture the light trails in the dark, just before the shutter closed the flash went off and you took a photo of the plane.

The Canon EOS 3 can do the same but you need a very expensive flash unit to do that.

Your photo is great and demonstrates how good the above technique can be when used properly.

Not quite, Jetinder. Yes, the 40D does have a second curtain synch, but that's not how I did this one. I wouldn't pop a flash at an aircraft without the pilots knowing about it before hand.

As they was heading over to park, I asked the marshaller where he was going to stop them. Knowing that spot, I set up the tripod, aimed to catch the front of the aircraft in the right side of the frame. When he taxied into the frame, I tripped the shutter, set for a 30 second exposure. He taxied in and stopped on the spot, and I ended up with about 15 seconds of the exposure taken with the aircraft stopped, prior to engine shut down.
