On Aug. 30, LGA was using what I call the "US Open Climb" off of Rwy 13. The jets fly runway heading without making the turn over the Stadium and turn towards Whitestone/Bayside. This avoids over-flying Ashe Stadium. I also noticed the "Direct TV" blimp over the Unisphere at about 1400'. I believe the blimp was N154ZP.

I think that's actually called the "Whitestone Climb."

It's a variation of the Whitestone Climb. In the normal Whitestone Climb, the aircraft makes a sharp turn about 180 degrees to pass over the Park and avoid passing over residential neighborhoods. In the Climb that I described, the aircraft makes no turn but climbs straight-out on runway heading.

I believe this is called the Flushing Climb according to the guys from LGA. The aircraft depart straight out from 13 and fly over Flushing.

Right you are. It's the Whitestone Climb where the aircraft passes over the Park. I call the "Flushing" Climb the "US Open" Climb because I only see it during sessions at the US Open, although I'm sure it's used at other times, too. Thanks for clearing it up.
