I went to JFK today to shoot the Aloha/Suncountry hybrid and notice this cloth errected along the north side of the Park.
Looks like it could be construction again as the John is back.

Yeah, that looks like a protective silt barrier.

Am I the only one waiting for a certain someone to jump out of their race car bed screaming "The terrorists won! The terrorists won!"?

Didn't they put up a fence last year when they had the soccer tournaments.
It was taken down when they were finished. maybe....

I'm assuming that it DOESN'T block access to the mounds?

That was when they were installing the artificial turf field, and yes, the area was fenced off during that time.

As Luke said in this thread: jfk-8-13-review-13-pictures-t13144.html (http://www.nycaviation.com/forum/jfk-8-13-review-13-pictures-t13144.html)

The soccer field's wooden fence was covered by a white curtain fence. It didn't block the entrance to the field or to the Mounds.

I don't think it's anything to worry about, but does raise my curiosity a bit.

One thing to point out is that I don't think there's anyone else who can take shots out of a passenger window as well as Senga does. :)

Lots and lots of practice it would seem

GOD not that again.
I suggest you guys not go there. You guys should know better than that. Maybe I should think twice about posting info.

Unlike most of you I actually listen to scanners when I am at the airport and can't just LEAVE the car when I have a plane coming in soon I need to listen out for.

Why the heck would I bother to stop just to get a shot of a fence anyway?

Glad to hear it. I wonder why it was erected.

It was the Marcus Garvey soccer festival held on Aug 16-17th.
It's by registration and fee so it's a way to keep track of teams and other people entering.

Thanks, Joe. Some of us were there Sunday afternoon, as the soccer thing was going on, and I noticed the fabric was still there, but had mostly been knocked down. I guess at that point there wasn't much of a need for it.

I was there yesterday and when we got there it was halfway to the entrance and this one kid slowly added more until the whole thing was covered, even like half the entrance.
