"British Airways’ subsidiary OpenSkies is to launch a daily Amsterdam-New York service this autumn.
The service, between Schiphol International Airport and JFK, starts on 15 October, leaving Amsterdam at lunchtime, with a mid-afternoon New York arrival. The return overnight flight leaves New York at 8.05pm, arriving in Amsterdam at 9.40am the following morning.

OpenSkies MD Dale Moss said: ‘Since our launch on 19 June with our premium service between Paris-Orly and JFK, the response to OpenSkies has been overwhelmingly positive.

‘We’re expanding to Amsterdam because of its significance as a business and cultural capital in Continental Europe and the opportunity to bring premium service to travellers on another route across the Atlantic.’

OpenSkies is also considering other European destinations, including Brussels, Barcelona, Frankfurt and Milan.

The announcement of the airline’s Amsterdam launch comes on the day BA completed its purchase of French airline L’Avion, which will be fully integrated with OpenSkies by early 2009. "
