I read that according to ATC at JFK Barrett Byrnes, new procedures have taken place at JFK regarding arrivals on 22L and departures from 13R simultaneously. From my tracking of operations on Sat. July 12, I really see no new procedures. Aircraft are still arriving via VOR/DME 22L while aircraft are still departing from Rwy. 13R. Exactly what are the new procedures supposed to be?

That would be keeping a bird holding on 13R departure there for 15mins + until an inbound flight on a 12-15 mile final touches down on 22L and clears the runway. Bayswater sucked royally due to this new "feature." Egadz.

Rather than make the departures wait to depart from Rwy 13R, they should cut-down the number of inbounds going to VOR/DME 22L so as not to delay departures. That would be wiser than making departures linger on Rwy. 13R. until the 22L arrivals clear the runway at taxiways "H" or "Z".

Actually, they were turning 'em out on 13L and 13R. Still, they took something that was broke, and they broke it even more. Ah well...sometimes the mess has to get worse before it gets better.

Watch the delays from this grow the rest of the summer, and then the big airlines will say it was bizav causing all the delays again.
