Woman Smokes Cigarette on Plane, Punches Flight Attendant

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

18 Jun 2008

- A plane was diverted to Denver International Airport after a passenger allegedly started smoking a cigarette, verbally attacked a flight attendant, and then punched her in the face on board a flight traveling from San Francisco to New York.

35-year-old Christina Szele of Woodside, New York could face up to 20 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines after being charged by Criminal Complaint for assault and interference with flight attendants.

Szele, who is still in federal custody, was a passenger aboard the JetBlue Airways flight on June 17 when she allegedly started smoking a cigarette at her seat.

Flight attendants then attempted to restrain Szele with flex cuffs which she later broke through.

Violent women from Queens that smoke. haha. Unfortunately it's in my dating resume's experience.

I just wonder what is going on in a passenger's mind during this. Do they really think that it's ok? Do they really not realize the severity of their actions?

Question - is there a mind for something to go through?

Might not have been secured properly. Or she was just one crazy bee-eye-itch.

Not sure you can blame her - between security lines, 1+ hour check in time, some time sitting on the airplane waiting to depart, it must have been hours since her last cigarette - it may be more than some people can handle.
