Air Canada to Fire 2000 Employees, Reduce US Flights

Air Canada has announced it will lay off 2000 of its 28,000 employees beginning later this year, coinciding with capacity cuts. Service to and from the US will be chopped 13%, overseas flights 7%, and domestic flights only 2%, indicative of Canada's fairly healthy economy.
