You know US is next. Not sure about Delta. As pointed out before, the fee will likely net the airlines $0 when all is said and done.

Looks like UA has followed AA. In another thread here, it was stated that US is likely to announce it shortly as well.

Just another step in the race to the bottom...though I understand why they have to do it, the industry really is in a crisis. I think it would be interesting if one or two majors didn't follow suit, how do you think that would affect loads/sales/revenues?

I'm cringing at the thought of all those oversized rollaboard bags people are now going to cram in the overhead bins...well done UA and AA.

Just raise fares or charge for drinks!

Yep. AA's bag fees are waived in many instances. Tack on an extra $25 on every ticket sold and you might have a chance for netting more.
