My friend saw a film recently, "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man" from 1991. It shows an Air France Concorde arriving at Burbank Airport. The runways there are 6886 feet long and 1768 feet long. Was it possible for a Concorde to land there or was that a goof ?

Runway length required for takeoff: 3,590 metres

The 2 runways at Burbank are 2099 and 1768 metres long respectively, so just as I had thought, no Concorde ever landed there. I will post that as a goof on the films' site.

Its Hollywood...most things they produce are a goof..Take the movie Pearl Harbor for example. The opening scene show's "Mitchell Field, Long Island" with huge mountains behind the field...I promply got up hit stop on the DVD player and threw that DVD in the trash.

Or the Transformers where AF1 is a 742 in the first shot and a 707 in the second.

I actually had to check this one out for myself. Concorde went so many places over the years.. including Albany and Buffalo amongst others; many surprising airports. But, not, Burbank. :D
