World Airways Adds Boeing 747-400 Freighter to Certificate
PEACHTREE CITY, GA -- 05/07/08 -- World Airways has added the first Boeing 747-400 freighter to its certificate following completion of induction requirements and approval by the Federal Aviation Administration.

"This is a major step forward for World Airways as we grow to meet the demands of international cargo airline customers," said Jeff Sanborn, chief marketing officer. "We plan to add our second 747-400 freighter in the fall, providing significant capacity to augment our fleet of MD-11 and DC-10-30 freighters."

The aircraft has a range of 4,600 miles and a payload capacity of 250,000 pounds, which makes it ideal for long-range inter-continental service around the globe. Conversion to cargo configuration was completed in March 2008.

World Airways, a subsidiary of Global Aero Logistics Inc., provides customized transportation services for major international passenger and cargo carriers, the United States military, major freight forwarders and international leisure tour operators. Founded in 1948, World operates a fleet of wide-body aircraft to meet the specialized needs of its customers. For information, visit http://www.worldairways.com.
