HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) _ Teterboro Airport is leading many of the nation's larger airports in a dubious category.

From fiscal 2001 through fiscal 2007, Teterboro, which handles primarily private and corporate planes, had the sixth-highest number of incidents classified as "serious" incursions, or instances in which aircraft strayed into areas designated for takeoffs and landings. I don't know enough about TEB, but isn't the airport kinda slow to have so many problems?

Private pilots (not corporate) do not fly enough to maintain proficiency & are not normally well trained versed on ground procedures.

I worked an AOPA event & some of those private pilots are crazy, some, barely know ground hand signals.

KTEB can get quite busy, especially during the midday hours. They have 554 operations/day on average, which is about half of the traffic of La Guardia.
