I've been trying to decide, but I don't think mine will stimulate any ECONOMICALLY at least. Not to get into my opinions too much on it, but I think the whole stimulus package idea is stupid. And just for spite, I was honestly thinkin about going to a strip joint.
I will probably end up spending it on some car parts or something.
You?
(Try not to get into your opinions on the package. No debates here.)

I'm about to get new tires, and will probably have them by the time I get my check, but I'm probably going to get like $600, and that would not cover my tires.

I won't be stimulating anything: my $600 is going straight to paying down some credit cards.

The $600 will be going towards a big screen TV, that is, as soon as I complete my move to Seattle....

You and me both, Matt. Got way to many bills to pay to afford to go out and "stimulate the economy".

I'm thinking a 430EX with wireless trigger, motorcycle parts, power tools, or a road trip to somewhere stupid.
I haven't spent money on anything fun for a while. Time to change that. Good thing I'm young and reckless :D

Mine isn't going to stimulate the U.S Economy either....seems to be a theme here, lol. Rather it will help to stimulate the Italian economy. I'm banking my check and its going towards spending money while I'm in Italy this summer.

Got a nice tax refund coming back which will go into completing another room in the house.
As for the tax refund, I was initally not expecting anything but looks like we are and its also going into the house and also someones college fund.

Amazingly the amount of the check is exactly what I had to pay this year so I guess I broke even.

I actually have to go out of the country next weekend, so I guess my $600 check will stimulate a foreign economy.

My Trip to London if I go, I am using my federal return to pay most of my CC off and then w/e is left over comes from the 600, and preferably using it for the trip to London.

It all goes into the general fund, of course, but it should just about cover a foreign trip I have projected for September/October. I'll be flying there on a US-flag carrier, but the ticket is free. My goal is not a penny spent in the United States :)

Well, the money already came and went ... got myself a much-needed new PC. I have two computers, one running Linux that's my main desktop, and another running Windows for Photoshop and games. I'd built the new Windows machine last year, but the Linux machine was coming up on 6 years old (Dell Optiplex GX1) and while everything was still working, a 1 GHz P3 with 384MB of RAM just wasn't cutting anymore. Picked up a new Dell Vostro 200, a 500GB hard drive, and another 2 gigs of RAM. Spent the last couple of days getting all the data copied over and everything set up just right, and wow is it nice. (Of course, upgrading was something I'd been planning on doing about now anyway. I just lucked out the the feds subsidized it.)

I'm thinking about that too...my computer was top-of-the-line about two years ago, which just isn't cool for someone in my line of work. :)
Hm...better pictures, or faster editing...?

I just got mine today. I thought I'd only get 300 according the IRS's website but I got the full 600. I promptly transferred it to my savings account where it will remain until I leave for Italy in August! Thanks Bush! hehe

I was lucky to get mine early; they feds actually got something done early (getting their database in some semblance of order) and announced last week that they were going to start (electronically) sending out the 'checks' earlier this week. Since the dates are based on the last two digits of your SSN, and mine's nice and low, I was in the first group. The deposit first appeared in my account on Saturday, but didn't clear until Monday.

Hmmh Haven't seen mine yet.
Maybe I won't get it, though I seem to meet the qualifications, I made over 10K, filed all that jazz. My SS is low also.

I will be one of the last to get that check, my number is high, oh, no plans to spend it until next month.
