After many years, I have started to play hockey again. I grew up playing hockey, and an old friend convinced me to get back into it, and boy am I happy about it!

Myself and three friends I grew up with went down to the local roller rink for some 5 on 5 with other guys. It was like we were 13 again.

I started a couple weeks ago, and didn't realize that, though I'm getting my muscle back, my heart is not that strong. Now I'm getting much better and am not subbing out much at all except to grab a sip of Gatorade or to let someone else play.

Who else plays? Or who would want to come to Queens to play?

I've played from bethpage to moriches, altho I'm sure you'd rather play against me than alongside me. ;)

i played in high school, but nothing organized. we used to get together in the streets in the industrial part of greenpoint and williamsburg, though getting checked into a brick wall was never a pretty sight. we swept the street for glass usually before every game. to be honest i should get back into it, now that my knee is better it might do some good for me.

i would like to get together phil, but that would require a pair of skates and those are gonna have to wait for a while 'till the new GPS is procured.

Phil, I am more of a Baseball/Softball guy. If you want to start up an NYCA softball team I would be up for it.

Roller, though I'll be doing some ice for a team in LI in a few months probably.

Honestly, I love this idea, but I don't think I'll have the time to be able to organize it. Want to take command of something like that, Eric?

Keep me posted, I'll skate whenever.

"Why don't you make like a hockey player and get the puck out of here!"
Sorry, bad joke from two and a half men...

Never played hockey in my life, but would LOVE to play some softball. Eric, if you're down for organizing, I'd help out and would definitely participate if my schedule permits...

Where in Queens do you play? I have a bunch of guys in Westchester that I play with every couple of weeks, on Sundays. I'm sure they would be into a good game. We even have a goalie and regulation net as well. Do you play with a puck or ball?

I play at roller rinks in College Point and Whitestone. My ice rink is on Long Island (Iceland).

We only use roller hockey pucks.

For safety purposes, we urge the people that come to wear actual hockey skates, hockey gloves, and not "street" hockey equipment, including the sticks. We play full, fast-paced games.

Do you guys play on sportcourt surfaces. I only have indoor equipment and I'm not that serious into it that I'll look to invest in new sticks, wheels, etc.
