QUEENS (WABC) -- A small, twin-engine plane crashed while landing at JFK Airport Thursday.
Officials say the main gear and the left gear flew off upon impact.
The jet went off the runway and ended up on the grass
A pilot and two people aboard the plane were said to have suffered minor injuries.
The aircraft reportedly suffered heavy damage.
A ground stop is in effect for arriving traffic.

N750WM a Cessna Citation X landed from Orlando at 8:17 pm on 13L and skidded 50 feet off the runway.

This would explain why they were only allowing vfr aircraft to transition through tonight... they wouldn't let the news choppers in the airspace.

Sounds like a hydraulic failure. Glad no one was hurt.

They are removing the AC right now,a couple of cranes out there with the usual PA suppot, JFK has issued a 1st tier Ground Stop due to removal of disabled aircraft on Rwy 4L
JFK is arriving on Rwy4R and departing Rwy31L Rwy’s 4L and 31R are closed.Things should be back to normal by 0800. (Whatever that is) Out to offs are averaging 1 hr now

"Out to off" is the time from when an aircraft pushes back, to when it becomes airborne.
