They "forgot" to perform scheduled tests of the cargo fire suppression systems. This affects all 52 UA 777s. No online news stories yet, but here's United's statement:

Thank goodness!!!!

I just returned from Japan on 31-March, flying on a United 777, we were actually thinking of staying a little while longer, glad we returned on schedule.....

Oh yeah, the extra 5 inches that you get on the United Economy Plus section, it is well worth the extra money.

Add another pretty important flight to that list: the United 777 chartered by the White House for members of the press covering President Bush's trip to Europe is among those grounded...problem is it's currently in Romania! UA is apparently scrambling some techs out there to check it before the reporters will be allowed to continue their trip.
