Is Japan Airlines Having Hard Times ?

First, Japan Airlines stopped sponsoring their annual "JAL Big Apple Classic" golf tournament. Next, they closed-down all their ticket offices in Manhattan. This is strange because all of the other airlines to the Far East from New York still maintain their offices. ANA, KAL, Asiana, Air China, China Air, Thai, etc. all have ticket offices in Manhattan. At their check-in counters at Terminal One at JFK, Japan Airlines' workers wouldn't even give me a copy of their in-flight magazine. They told me that I must fly on Japan Airlines to get the magazine. This is strange because the other airlines gladly give me copies to read. Is Japan Airlines having bad times?
