Said to be the world's largest building and designed by renowned architect Sir Norman Foster, the new terminal at Beijing Capital Airport is two miles long and covers 245 acres, and perhaps most stunningly, was built in only 4 years.

Believe it or not, the McNamara at Detroit is the second longest terminal behind this one.

HAH! That ACTUALLY happened to me last month when I was there. My Air China A340 was scheduled to be at gate 60-something, and they moved it to 4 at the last minute. It was so far we took buses there :P

Such a wild and so unnecessarily gargantuous airport, which is rather Beijing-esque in terms of the "look at what we can do cuz we're better than you, basically"-ness ...

I love China :)
