Delta officials will be in Seattle today to take delivery of their first new aircraft in six years, a 777-200LR (http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6168120). First scheduled revenue flight is next Saturday, ATL-LAX-ATL, followed by ATL-NRT.

According to a post on anet by our old friend/Delta employee ChrisW/FlyNavy, after Delta takes delivery of their second 772LR on March 21st, they will begin using them exclusively on the JFK-BOM run on March 30th. Unfortunately, the flights will be difficult, but not impossible to shoot: JFK-BOM departs after dark (8:55pm) but there could be some nice light on the arrival if you don't mind losing some sleep: BOM-JFK gets in at 6:40am.

I think I can try to get up and leave my house by 3am to be there in time to catch her landing depending on which runway is being use to landings

The a/c is doing an ATL-JFK-BOM-JFK rotation. The flight is scheduled to arrive in JFK on 3/30 at 735pm. The return flight arrives 4/1 at 655am.

Hello Gentlemen,

Greetings from Mumbai, India.
Went up the hill to catch The Delta Spirit and catch her i did, only one thing. All throughout the push-back, taxi & line-up the damn tail light was off ???????? And it was moving as well so wasnt able to click anything, luckily when it lined-up there was something vacating runway 27 & so N701DN stopped briefly & i got my shot in. After that damn it, the pilot switched the tail light on. :x :x :x
Everybody else who was parked like Lufthansa, Swiss, Alitalia & so on had their lights ON the whole time.

Any particular reasons ?

Cheers - Vishal
