Soon the sun will begin to position itself perfectly to illuminate aircraft at the mounds. Though a fantastic spot, I remind everyone that it is a natural habitat home to much wildlife, and, even some unpleasant vermin....among that, the TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, SPOTTER TICK!!!!!!

He lurks in the bushes!!! PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!

Just a friendly reminder here, be safe, respect the environment, have a pleasant upcoming mounds season!!

The spotter tick is a little bit taller though.

Ticusspotterus- humongous arachnids in super-family Ixodoidea, a mutation of a normal tick.Ticusspotterus are ectoparasites living by hematophagy on blood. Its only pray is the spotter. Ticusspotterus can be found in the vicinity of John F. Kennedy airport, especially at a series of marshes under the approach path to Runway 22L.

I ask you all, be aware. He prowls the area during dusk hours awaiting unwary spotters, who finish up their day of spotting. He moans "DON'T COME TO THE MOUNDS...". Then he makes a chilly cry and begins his onslaught, the only thing that remains of the unwary spotter is... the dust from his/her camera's sensor.

If you come in a vis a vis contact:

-Do not engage in further provocation by issuing an NYCaviation postcard. The Ticusspotterus immediately begins to hypnotize the spotter with intent to lure him/her into its lair.

-Do not display ID.

-Lay low until its fury is fully unleashed.

One rule to keep in mind is the Ticusspotterus strikes upon violation of its bounty.

There is no warnings or any indications of its presence. It acts through surprise.

This is not a joke, but a serious warning.

It's time we make a tick t-shirt for all of us. I'll draw something up and see if we can get a few made.
