NAIAS Auto Show 2008 pics *UPDATED!!!* *56k NO!*

So, after mid-terms today (half day), I headed out to the 2008 NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) which is the largest auto show in the world. Many great cars there, very cool. It was my first ever time going (a sin for a local Michigander) and I enjoyed it a lot.

But, I found out the only other shooting that is more difficult than airplane photography, car photography in low light exhibits while they are spinning on pedestals and people are walking in front of your shot! haha! I also learned that I really need a shorter lens!

These are just a couple shots that I have edited so far, I will post more probably tomorrow because I have to get studying for tomorrows tests (grr!)

Photography can be quite difficult at car shows because of the low light, moving displays, awkward layouts and the hoards of people. That being said, your shots are great! The concepts are...interesting. I'll be heading over to the DC Auto Show tomorrow, so I'll try to post some shots afterwards.

Nice stuff, Matt. I'm headed to the Philly Auto Show sometime in early February. Hopefully I'll get some equally as good shots!

Matt nice job with the pics. I personally can't stand auto shows...especially the NYC Auto show. If you go there on a weekend its impossible to truly see the cars...every 13 year old from NY/NJ are acting like thugs with their bling bling sitting in the cars. Concept cars IMO are total waste as well...I can't recall seeing to many of the ideas seen in concept cars being placed into real production, or even remotely close to being put into production. God I hate car shows.....

Great shots, Matt. The last two weeks at work I was editing photos beamed back to me from the poorly lit halls of NAIAS, CES and Macworld and for the most part they sucked. To be fair, they were shot by writers and not photogs, but still, yours are a lot nicer. Next year I'm going to suggest either a.)I go to the shows and take the pics myself or b.)hire a photographer.
