There was lightning this morning when I left the house, too.

We had a pretty severe thunderstorm this morning here in Long Beach. Rain fall similar to a Florida summer afternoon thunderboomer. It was wild. Lightning hit the wood pillar on the dock of our neighbors house and knocked off the wooden pelican that was mounted on it. It was a wild weather morning. Glad I am off this week.

One of our AC was hit by lightning on its approach to JFK and had to be taken OOS. We only had one other diversion and that was a flight to BDL. 8)

>We had a pretty severe thunderstorm this morning here in Long Beach. Rain fall similar to a Florida summer afternoon thunderboomer. It was wild. <

At 3:40AM I had just woken up and went to the bathroom. No sooner had I climbed back into bed
and closed my eyes there was this bright flash then seconds later a TREMENDOUS clap of thunder
that sounded like a bomb went off. It shook the house and set off car alarms. Then me and my
wife counted down how long before our daughter comes running into bed with us!! Uh about 10
seconds!!! LOL!!
At 1PM in Manhattan the sky turned black but by 4:30 when I left it was beautiful!! In fact a PD
Agusta was circling around MSG and then up to Times Square pretty low!!!
Back on LI a crescent moon and here come the 22s.
Now Sunday night another big storm!!

We had to close our ramp (US @ LGA) for about 20 mins this afternoon as the line passed through and some brief downpours occured but 2 hours later the sun was shining and clear skies overhead. Another summer afternoon at LGA only it's January.

Cheers

Hey Ryan, next time you get a storm like that in Long Beach we would enjoy seeing some cool lightning photos from your roof !

last night was definately interesting, and for the first time in a while i was woken up during the night by the wx. when i left the house for work today it was just lightly drizzling, but of course by the time i got to the employee lot at work i decided to wait out the wx and sat in the car for 40 minutes until the rain subsided enough that i was able to make it to the bus stop without taking a swim.

and ryan, i second ron's request. in fact, the entire office would love to see those pix!
