NEW YORK -- A bridge that leads to the airport named for John F. Kennedy could be renamed for his younger brother, Robert F. Kennedy, the former New York senator assassinated in 1968.

The Triborough Bridge, which is actually a sprawling complex of three bridges, a viaduct and 14 miles of approach roads opened in 1936, connects Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens, where JFK Airport is located.

Democratic Gov. Eliot Spitzer was expected to announce his intention to rename the bridge in his State of the State speech on Wednesday, according to published reports. More... I personally think we have enough landmarks named after Kennedys. Also, the Triborough is about a 3 minute drive from LGA, but saying it leads to JFK is quite a stretch.

If any Kennedy deserves to have a bridge named after him, it's Ted.

Meanwhile, another Kennedy is in bed with a psycho. If you have seen the commercials for this 1800-JOE-4-OIL,it is Joe Kennedy pushing cheaper oil from Citgo, supplied to under priveleged Americans. This is oil owned by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, remember him,the anti American dictator who is one of the biggest oppressers of civil rights in the world today. He's the one all of our liberal Hollywood friends go to visit.

Only if he keeps his car on it.

Spitzer never seems to amaze. Adam is right you would think he would have something better to do with his time. Not to mention it would just lead to confusion. Leave it alone.

Even if it's renamed people will always call it the triborough...just like I call the Interboro by its old name and not the Jackie Robinson pkwy...

Besides, isn't renaming a bridge expensive? Like redoing all the signage? It seems like a waste of time and resources.

Yeah, just like all those signs they had to install naming it the "Reagan National Airport".
