even though i wasn't working i dropped by the office for a little bit today, just long enough to wastch as N836MA (Boeing's own BBJ i think) taxiied out to 31 for departure. since i had some time to kill before class i made my way to my school's tower and watched as N386AA rolled out on 22 following 2 Slowtations, that's an AAL 763. the scanner up in that tower started sounding too much like work so i ran off to relax in my truck in the parking lot. just before going back inside for class i watched a Baron (sounded more like a baron than Seneca anyway) take an intersection departure off of 22 and the crew of N115PD (PAPD's S-76) proving to me once more that they were having more fun than i was...

03 October
today was a long day, but interesting enough in that i was able to watch all this come and go:
N45LR- Leajer 45
N687QS- Citation Excel
N50FD- a Westwind registered to Sallie Mae
N357AA- AAL B763
N47EG- Faclon 900
N821AM- Global Express
N616KG- G-IV
N985JC- G-V(SP)
N85PS- S-76C
also watched as a CH-47 and two AH-64s landed over in the area of the E ramp. they flew in from the west, stayed for about two hours and left again westbound. on the way out the chinook was leading the pack until they disapeared from sight. a big HOO-AH to army aviation!
but the highlight of the day was a UC-35D serial 166374 that taxiied past me on the way to 31 for takeoff. that's basically a citation encore, in USMC paint.

We also got a pretty nice visitor. Allegiant MD87 N949MA
http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6120909
Allegiant has made several LGA visits this year operating Gambling junket charters to Mississipi, they are ground and passenger handled at LGA by CO. Every time I have seen them it's been with the MD-87.
But the highlight of the day was a DL Shuttle MD88 emergency landing, here are my coments from Delta777LR's LGA spotting thread with photos, check them out.
The first DL MD88 go-around was a pretty big deal. He had an unsafe gear indication and in your shots was doing a gear down check fly-by of the Tower. Came back to land about 15 mins later with the main gear doors down, something I have never seen before. They drugg on the runway and watched the roll-out with binaculars but never saw sparks. They did a dead-stop on Runway 31 between the end of the runway and the intersection with 4-22. This closed 13-31 for about 15-20 mins and the MD-88 was surrounded by emergency and Port Ops vehicles. After about 10-15 mins the gear doors where retracted and she taxied to the gate under her own power. Probably the most excitement we have seen here in a while

Sun Oct 12th: While light wise a GREAT day at LGA only two notable visitors at least on my watch.
The USMC G-3 that AirTrafficController got a nice shot of Saturday made a nice loud departure off 13.
We also saw for the second time the first DL 757-232 to recieve winglets N648DL. This is NOT on of the ex TWA birds and is in the Wavey Gravey or Deltaflot scheme, it actually looks really sharpe and so far no photos on the two largest photo sites.

Fairly interesting day at LGA for Thursday 10-16. I did another double and I had brought my camcorder to work which is rare, in case the DC-3 departed but it's still here with MTC. But the camcorder got some good use anyway despite the crappy weather.
First around 1030 Trump departed 13 for SWF. Right after he departed we switched to 31 departures and not 10 mins after Trump here came Obama. My co-workers where amused how the 757 by-passed the 15 or so aircraft in the departure line and went right to the front for an immediate departure. Minutes later a Canadian registered Avanti departed and a few mins later the FAA's G-IV N1 Departed 31. Pretty unique aircraft as it has the same scheme as a USAF SAM Gulfstream but has a civilian registration and operated by the FAA.
1209712
Around 1600 Obama's 757 returned from somewhere landing on 22, I believe he has some fundraising dinner tonight in Manhattan.
The final guest of the day was a Corporate Beech 1900-D N1883M, something you don't see every day ( or year). The below photo has a desciption of it's operator.

Monday Oct 20: Back for another double and while reading this site I was distracted by VERY LOUD reverser deployment, and looked up to see Peter Nygard rolling out on 31. The 727 is parked at 5 Towers. While watching the 3-holer taxi to the ramp I then noticed a strange 757 over at Echo Parking. After a quick look through the binoculars the 75 turned out to be this old girl, number 14 off the line.
1354463.
Checking the Star's schedule they play the Rangers tonight, the Devil's on Wed night and then the Islanders on Thursday evening. I wonder if the aircraft (might) reposition to FRG for departure Thursday night?
And the real highlight of the day (maybe week) just landed on 31, Italian Air Force A-319, MM62174, thanks to detective Celmer for getting the very hard to read reg, it was very small and they have 3, pretty sure that's the first appearance of one at LGA.

Matt the vis was so bad at times I missed seeing the 762 as I could not see the AC gates from our Tower even though we control one of them. US12 PHX-JFK actually diverted twice, MDT and PHL where it cancelled as the crew timed out. US 1490 departed CLT at 1 min early at 1609 and arrived LGA 7 hours and 2 mins later (2311 for those who trouble with math) after diverting to PHL for fuel, then being number for 60 to takeoff, then being a victim of a 2 hour ground stop to LGA. Oh and check out US 1630, never diverted but look at their holding. 4 hours and 3 mins gate to gate CLT-LGA
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/AWE1 ... /KCLT/KLGA (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/AWE1630/history/20081025/2226Z/KCLT/KLGA)
And the CLT-LGA behind him US 1624
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/AWE1624
Ironically those two flights where operated with the Steelers and Panthers schemed aircraft.
And as I was finishing typing this I noticed something Big and White, coming out of Delta's alley, ended up being 767-332 N125DL (New Colors) at this early hour I did a double take, thought it was a 777 for a moment or two.

Thursday Nov 6th: Only movement I caught worth mentioning was the loud, long and slow departure of LGA's resident 727, VP-BDJ making a transon flight to MRY.
Also as most of you know DL has numerous Comair CRJ-900's every day at LGA. Recently a single Pinncale CR9 was added to the mix operating a CVG-LGA-MSY late afternoon routing. And today that flight was operated by N605LR, registered to Mesa/Freedom but with a FLG (Flagship or Pinnacle) designator, interesting.
Oh and speeking of Delta from their latest schedule change they are now flying 5 or 6 (depending on the day) of their LGA-MDW trips with Brand-New E-175's. As most non international DL aircraft do not have logo lights I got tell you their newest tail logo looks really sharp all lit up on these new E-jets at night !

Air Canada (TCA) A319 C-FZUH was in this morning
Was here again Thanksgiving afternoon, I had not seen this one here in a while. From the way the aircraft looked I think Air Canada may have given this one a fresh coat of paint recently but in the same nice retro scheme. Pretty sure this scheme came out in 1997 so I can't imagine it's the same paint for 11 years.
Cheers

Dec 24th
DL 763 at LGA early this afternoon
DL has had quite a few 763's the last week or so at LGA first due to post weather cleanup from cancelled flights and then due to heavy holiday loads. On Dec 22 around 1800 one DL 763 was taxiing out as another was taxiing and they actually passed each other near my office.
Happy Holidays Everyone,

Ahh, didn't know he re-registered in Bermuda.
For those keeping score at home, VP-BPZ is formerly N727PN, Peter Nygard's plane.

Is it in a new overall scheme? Or is it the same plane just reregistered?
